| Objectives.
The members of the Coalition affirm that cultural
diversity is a fundamental human right and that countries
and governments must be entirely free to adopt the policies necessary
to support the diversity of cultural expression and the viability
of enterprises that produce and distribute this expression.
Consequently, the Coalition defends the following principle:
Cultural
policy must not be subject to the constraints of international
trade agreements.
While
CCD members may have differing views within their specific sectors,
members of the Coalition are united in the principle that countries and
governments must remain entirely free to establish their own cultural
policies.
